Dear Sir/Madam,
 
We wish to inform you that the above foundation has short-listed you for a grant, which is to be used for your humanitarian/organizational activities; this grant is in recognition of your programmes and activities. The RCM Foundation Trust was endowed Mr. Medford and is a non-profit foundation which was established in 1952 by Rod Chiswell Medford.

The Foundation's assets grew considerably following Mr. Medford's death in 1966, and the Foundation hired its first staff in 1969. At that time, the Foundation began to develop priorities and guidelines that reflected not only Mr. Medford's interests but also new areas of commitment. it awarded grants amounting to Ј9.5 million (GBP) to support its charitable aims. And since then it has awarded nearly Ј38million (GBP) to over 3,000 charities across the United Kingdom. The Trust's main aim has always been to fund well managed projects which help to relieve poverty, support disadvantaged people, and effect long-term change where help is not readily available from the public or private purse. The Trust also provides funding for the arts, and towards the conservation of the natural and built environment.

The Trust currently has a capital of around Ј44 million (GBP), and in 2008, it awarded grants amounting to Ј3.1 million (GBP) to support its charitable aims in some selected areas like The Educational Grants Directory which is known as (E.G.D), The Environmental Funding Guide, The Sports Funding Guide, The Youth Funding Guide in some part of Africa. In accordance with the expressed wishes of Geoffrey Medford the president decided in 2011 to wind down the Trust within the next twenty years. This means that they will be increasing the level of annual spending and will be looking for opportunities to award a number of more substantial grants that will have an enduring impact.
 
RCM Foundation Trust has been very supportive to Kenya during its troubles, and in May 2008 had gone to Masai Mara to open a new school which has also been partly funded by Virgin Group frequent fliers who volunteered their time to help with the construction. RCM Foundation Trust gave Ј5 million (GBP) to the University of San Diego to endow a lecture series at the RCM Institute for Peace & Justice.
